(SBU) On April 25, MFA Director for International Cooperation Yacoub Al-Hosani asked Econchief for any background on a Draft EU Small Arms Agreement and on the USG's objections to the draft agreement. Al-Hosani said that the USG had opposed the agreement (at the UN) and the UAE had abstained. He said that the UAE was coming under pressure to reconsider its position and he wanted information on the USG's position as he worked on the UAEG's response. ¶2.
