(S) On February 7, Econchief talked to MFA Director of International Cooperation (and the MFA's representative to the UAE's counter proliferation committee) Yacoub Al-Hosani to follow-up on the status of the investigation into Elmstone Trading. Al-Hosani told Econchief that he had been in touch with the relevant authorities and that they were investigating the case. He committed to providing information when it became available. ¶2. (C) Comment: Post will continue to follow-up, but suggests that this would be a good issue for A/S Rood to raise during the upcoming Counterproliferation Task Force meeting as well. End Comment. SISON
