On February 4, econchief discussed reftel demarche with MFA
Director for International Cooperation Yacoub Al-Hosani, to
follow-up Embassy's December 28 approach to the MFA.
Econchief pressed Al-Hosani to have the UAE show support for
Liberia by sending a high level delegation and to consider
providing assistance to Liberia. Al-Hosani said that he was
aware of the conference and the request for UAE attendance,
but did not make any commitments other than to follow-up on
the issue with his colleagues. (Note: The UAE does not have
diplomatic relations with Liberia. End Note.)
