¶1. As requested reftel, Post delivered to the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi diplomatic note no. 687 (dated
August 21) requesting support for U.S. re-election to the
Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO).
¶2. Previously, FAA Rep met with H.E. Mohamed Al Ghaith,
Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority
(GCAA),on July 10 and gave him a presentation on several
position papers for the upcoming 36th ICAO Assembly in
Montreal, asking also for UAE support of the United States to
retain its seat on the ICAO Council.
