SECSTATE 4746 ¶B. STATE 4745 Classified By: Poloff Justin Friedman, reasons 1.4 (b) & (d) ¶1. (C) Charge delivered reftels demarch to MFA State Secretary Hido Biscevic on January 11. Biscevic responded SIPDIS that the GoC supported the U.S. approach to UN reform and that he would instruct the Croatian mission in New York to work with the U.S. mission to coordinate its postion. On January 12, Biscevic confirmed to Charge that the instruction had been issued to the Croatian mission. ¶2. (C) Poloff followed up on January 12 with Branko Zebic, Deputy Head of the UN Office at the MFA. Zebic elaborated that the GoC fully supported the U.S. position on management reforms. On the Human Rights Council, Croatia supported the Council as conceived, but preferred to see a larger membership than in the U.S. proposal. Zebic stressed that it would be easier for Croatia to support the U.S. position if the U.S. could reach consensus with the EU. DELAWIE NNNN
