As a member of the International Task Force on Holocaust Education, Croatia was associated with the Task Force statement on the Tehran conference. In addition, the GOC showed how seriously it takes the issue by issuing a separate December 13 statement. ¶2. Text of statement: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration regrets to learn that the government of Iran has organized a conference in Tehran with the aim of examining the reality and dimensions of the Holocaust. The Republic of Croatia condemns the conference, as well as any attempt to deny and relativise the tragedy of the Holocaust, primarily inappropriate statements and events which insult the victims and their descendants. As a country which suffered the horrors of World War II and as a victim of recent aggression, Croatia considers as unacceptable statements questioning or denying the right of states or nations to existence, as well as statements negating historical facts and the position of the international community on the Holocaust. As a member of the International Task force on Education, Remembrance and Research about the Holocaust, Croatia joins the international community in the condemnation of the conference. End text.
