(C) We delivered reftel points regarding the situation of
adherents of the Baha'i faith in Iran to Armenian Ministry of
Foreign Affairs (MFA) Iran Desk Officer Hasmik Dashtoyan
April 6. Dashtoyan said she would share our points with
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arman Kirakossian, a
member of the Iran-Armenia Intergovernmental Commission. The
GOAM, according to Dashtoyan, was also concerned about the
well-being of the significant minority population of
Christian Armenians who lived in Iran. She said she could
not provide an immediate response to our request for a public
statement from the GOAM, though she would update us when a
response was available.
