1. (S) EconPolCouns delivered reftel demarche on March 23 to
Johann Froelich, the assistant secretary level head of the
Austrian MFA's Justice and Home Affairs Division. Froelich
said that he would raise the issue with the Austrian Finance
Ministry. He also undertook to consult with his colleagues
in EU member states in his capacity as Presidency chair of
the relevant EU committee in an attempt to encourage an
EU-wide consensus.
