¶1. Acting Economic-Political Counselor and Poloff delivered
reftel demarche on August 18 to Elisabeth Koegler, Acting
Head of the MFA,s Human Rights Division. Koegler stated
that Austria supported Wedgwood,s election to the Human
Rights Committee in 2002, but had no information at this time
regarding Austrian support for Wedgwood,s re-election on
September 7. Koegler promised to consult with the GoA's UN
Mission and to notify us when the GoA has reached a decision
on the issue.
