EconPolOff discussed the June 23 PSI High Level Political
Meeting (HLPM) with Dorothea Auer, Director of the MFA's
Department for Disarmament, Arms Control and
Non-Proliferation, on May 30, informing them of U/S Joseph
and U/S Levy's participation and encouraging similarly
high-level participation. While the GoA welcomes the HLPM
and supports PSI, Ms. Auer informed the Embassy on 7 June
that the heavy workload of the EU Presidency, particularly in
the June timeframe, made it impossible for the GoA to send
high-level representation. Ambassador Dr. Alfred Laengle,
the Austrian chief of mission in Warsaw, will attend.
