1. Mission has received a note from the Permanent Mission
of Belgium to the United Nations requesting USG support for
its candidature of Mr. Raymond Yans for election to the
International Narcotics Control Board. The elections will be
held during the resumed organizational segment of the
Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in May 2006.
2. Mission will respond that careful consideration will be
given by the United States to the candidacy of Mr. Yans.
