¶1. Mission has received a note from the Permanent Mission of
Barbados to the United Nations requesting USG support for its
candidature for membership to the Economic and Social Council
(ECOSOC) for the term 2007-2009 at the elections to be held
during the 61st session of the United Nations General
Assembly.
¶2. Mission will respond that careful consideration will be
given by the United States to the candidacy of Barbados.
