¶1. Mission received a note from the Permanent Mission of
Argentina to the United Nations requesting USG support for
its candidature to the Human Rights Council. The elections
will be held in New York in May 2006. USUN notes that this
is the first diplomatic note we have received formally
announcing a candidacy to the newly-created Human Rights
Council and requesting our support.
¶2. Unless informed otherwise, mission will respond that
careful consideration will be given by the United States to
the candidature of Argentina.
