¶1. Mission has received a note from the Permanent Mission of
the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations requesting USG
support for its candidature for membership on the Commission
on the Status of Women (CSW). The elections will be held
during the resumed organizational session of the Economic and
Social Council on May 10-11, 2006.
¶2. Mission will respond that careful consideration will be
given by the United States to the candidature of the
Permanent Mission of the Republic of Iraq.
