1. Mission has received a note from the Permanent Mission of
Romania to the United Nations requesting USG support for its
candidature for membership to the Economic and Social Council
(ECOSOC) for the term 2007-2009 at the elections to be held
during the 61st session of the UN General Assembly in 2006 in
New York.
2. Mission will respond that careful consideration will be
given by the United States to the candidacy of Romania.
