Malloch Brown said he had spoken with Secretary-General Annan
hours earlier on the subject of African Union Mission in
Sudan (AMIS) transition. He acknowledged the
Secretary-General's openness to weighing in with the Libyans,

Egyptians and other parties as appropriate.
2. (C) Malloch Brown said he would speak again on the subject
with the Secretary-General and undertook to provide USUN with
more detail after that conversation.
