(C) On May 26, Ambassador delivered Ref A demarche on seeking
support for the Iraqi government formation completion to MFA
Director General for the Americas and Asia Ghazi Jomaa.
Jomaa said that Tunisia hopes to see the government formation
completed with the appointment of the two remaining ministers
as soon as possible. The GOT, said Jomaa, continues to
support the Iraqi people and government and it hopes the
completion of the government formation will improve domestic
and regional security. Ambassador noted that public
statements in support of the new Iraqi government would be
helpful. Jomaa said that the GOT had made positive
declarations on behalf of the Iraqis (Ref B) and would
continue to do so as appropriate.
