(S) On May 26, Ambassador delivered reftel demarche on the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial to MFA Director General for the Americas and Asia Ghazi Jomaa. Jomaa said that Deputy Foreign Minister Hatem Ben Salem would be representing Tunisia at the Ministerial and that he would pass the U.S. points to the Tunisian delegation as well as the MFA Director General for International Organizations. Jomaa said that Tunisia would continue to reinforce its position against the development of Iranian nuclear weapons capability. ¶2. (S) Ambassador also discussed reftel demarche with Deputy Foreign Minister Saida Chtioui on May 25. Chtioui said that Tunisia has made its position clear to the Iranians, but that Tunisia's influence was limited. She added that Tunisia had particularly stressed to Iran that aggressive statements, such as those regarding Israel's existence, were not useful. HUDSON
