Kaoru Magosaki called Embassy Political Officer October 18 to
talk about the France-hosted October 25 G-7 Nonproliferation
Finance conference in Paris. Due to staffing shortages,
Japan would only be able to send a Deputy Division Director
to the conference. The Japanese government is committed to
clamping down on proliferation finance, and the relatively
low level of the delegation should not be misconstrued,
Magosaki stressed.
