(C) On June 16, Embassy Tokyo Political Officer conveyed
reftel demarche to MOFA Non-Proliferation, Science and
Nuclear Energy Division officer Hikohito Oishi. Mr. Oishi
thanked the Embassy for the information provided and said he
would contact us with any questions or comments. He relayed
that Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department
Director General Takeshi Nakane would head Japan's delegation
to the June 23 High-Level Political Meeting in Warsaw. DG
Nakane will be joined by Non-Proliferation, Science and
Nuclear Energy Division Director Satoshi Suzuki and Mr.
Oishi, along with one representative each from the Japan
Self-Defense Agency and Japan's Coast Guard.
