1. (U) On October 12, Econoff shared reftel demarche and
diplomatic notes with Hein van der Hoeven, Department for UN
and Financial Institutions, Dutch Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, and Wim Rullens, Directorate General for Energy and
Telecom, Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
2. (SBU) Van der Hoeven said that the Dutch would support
U.S. election to the International Telecommunication Union
(ITU) Council and the election of Ms. Julie Napier Zoller to
the ITU's Radio Regulations Board. Embassy received two
diplomatic notes, DVF/CI-450/06 and DVF/CI-451/06, on
November 3 that confirmed Dutch support for the U.S. in both
elections. Original Notes are being pouched under registry
number 7317145.
