1.Econoff shared on August 16 reftel message concerning the
September 27-28 US-EU Financial Sanctions Workshop to be held
in Helsinki with Joost van Ettro, Policy Officer, Terrorism
and New Threats Unit, Political Affairs Department, Dutch
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA),and Anne-Chris Visser,
Senior Advisor, Financial Markets Policy Directorate, Dutch
Ministry of Finance (MOF).
2. Van Ettro said the MFA had not yet decided on who would
participate in the workshop. He and Visser -- together with
representatives of the Central Bank and the Dutch Bankers
Association -- had attended the previous Financial Sanctions
workshop in Vienna. "We highly value this forum," he said,
adding that "the listing and de-listing matter is something
that our Parliament and government attach great importance
to." Visser said she would probably be the only attendee from
the MOF.
3. The Dutch officials noted that they would share the
information within their ministries and inform post of any
changes to the Dutch delegation.
