(C) On May 17 Polecoff delivered reftel points to Mai
Jogimaa, MFA Syria Desk Officer, on the GOS's continued
crackdown on Syiran civil society activity. According to
Jogimaa, there has yet been no discussion within EU fora on
the latest incidents of Syrian human rights abuses and
arrests of Syrian activists. As the GOE has no diplomatic
relations with Syria, the GOE will not issue a separate
statement but will support what eventually emerges from
Brussels.
