Embassy of the United States of America
Dear Sir/Madam,
This is in reference to your document reference No. 801, 15
December 2005.
First of all, I would like to thank the Embassy of the United
States of America for the cooperation in aviation matters
between our two countries.
Concerning the designated airlines, under Article 3 of the
Air Transport Agreement between the Government of the
Republic of Korea and the Government of the United States of
America of 9 June 1998, we accept on the basis of reciprocity
the note from the U.S. that designates all U.S. airlines, in
accordance with each airline's authority issued by the U.S.
According to the principle of mutual reciprocity, we hereby
inform the Government of the United States of America that
the Government of the Republic of Korea designates all Korean
airlines to operate scheduled and charter services on the
Korean Routes specified in the Agreement and its Annex, in
accordance with each Korean airline's authority issued by the
Government of the Republic of Korea.
I believe this further strengthens the air transport
relations between Korea and the US and look forward to
continuing cooperation with the US Embassy for further
development of the two countries in the field of aviation in
the future.
Sincerely yours,
Oh, Yang-Jin
Director
