On June 8, poloff delivered reftel message, seeking the
ROKG's support on the U.S.-proposed mandate for the Fissile
Material Cutoff Treaty, to Deputy Director Yeo Sung-jun at
the Disarmament and Non-proliferation Division at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. In a brief
preliminary response, Yeo indicated that his office was
already familiar with the U.S. proposal and that the ROK
would support the U.S. initiative. Yeo also undertook to
share the information with relevant offices within the ROKG.
