On April 19, poloff delivered REF A demarche, encouraging
host governments not to support the candidacies of countries
that commit serious human rights violations to the United
Nation's Human Rights Council (HRC),to Jang Hyun-cheol,
Deputy Director of the Human Rights and Social Affairs
Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Jang
said the ROKG did not support membership in the HRC by
countries that abused human rights and noted that the ROKG's
position on HRC membership was the same as the USG's position.
