FORCES PARTICIPATING IN OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM
1. Post requests the Department's assistance in screening the
following member of Battalion Cuscatlan, who will be
participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). The
Battalion is scheduled to depart between August 7 and
August 11, under the command of XXXXXXXXXXXX.
All available records at post have been reviewed.
Potentially derogatory information is detailed in paragraph 4
below.

4. Comment: Post notes that XXXXXXXXXXXX's
name is mentioned in the United Nations Truth Commission
Report - "From Madness to Hope: The 12-Year War in El
Salvador." His name is included in Section B, Violence
Against Opponents by Agents of State, Illustrative Case 1,
the Murders of Jesuit Priests, Sections "Description of the
Facts: Preceding Events" and "Description of the Facts: The
Cover-up." The report does not allege that XXXXXXXXXXXX
participated in the murders.
