1. Embassy delivered demarche to Tania Lopez, Ministry of
Commerce's WTO Forum Coordinator on Tuesday, March 14. Ms.
Lopez responded in writing on Wednesday, March 15; an
unofficial translation follows.
Begin Translation:
Costa Rica will support the "Joint Proposal" on Geographical
Indications (GI) for wines and spirits, which is on the
agenda under the TRIPS Council Special Session the 16 and 17
of March. The GOCR has informed and given instruction to its
Mission at the WTO. We will send an official communique by
the end of the day (March 15).
