(S/NF) On 1/2/2006, EAC met to discuss recent tribal kidnappings of Western tourists. Members in attendance were AMB, RSO, POLM, OMC, DAO, POLE, PD, CONS, LEGATT, AID, FPD, RMO, CLO and CCE. 2.(S/NF) EAC discussed recent tribal kidnappings of tourists in the Governates of Marib and Shabwah. EAC discussed changes in the Consular Information Sheet and Warden Notice to reflect travel recommendations for American citizens. Consular agreed to draft language in the Consular Information Sheet and Warden Notice for Ambassador and RSO approval. EAC agreed that the language in both documents should be similar and reflect current security concerns in Yemen. ¶3. (S/NF) Ambassador reminded all EAC members that all travel requests are coordinated through the RSO office. RSO reiterated to the EAC that all travel requests must be submitted three working days prior to proposed travel. ¶4. (S/NF) PolOff agreed to draft a cable on the current spate of tribal kidnappings and focus on the political, economic and security implications for Yemen. Krajeski
