1. (U) This is an action request. See para 4.
2. (C) Cristina Collura, Director of the Ministry of
Finance's Financial Crimes Prevention Office, gave Econoff
November 16 the names of two naturalized Italian citizens
who have petitioned the GOI for delisting from UNSCR 1267
designation. (Ref email transmitted two petition request
texts.) Collura informed Econoff that the GOI wished to
receive USG views on these two delisting requests by
December 15.
3. (C) Names and summary data of the two persons are as
follows:
-- Youssef Nada. Born May 17, 1931 in Alexandria, Egypt.
Italian citizen.
-- Ghaleb Himmat. Born June 16, 1938 in Damascus, Syria.
Italian citizen.
4. (C) Action Request. Post requests Washington views on
delisting these two persons be transmitted via front channel
message as soon as possible. End Action Request.
