1. Minister Plenipotentiary Sergio Scarantino will represent
Italy at the second planning meeting for the 2006 BMENA Forum
for the Future in Moscow on May 29 - 30. Scarantino will
attend both days of the meeting.
2. Scarantino told polmiloff that, at the meeting, he will
present an Italian proposal for a conference on dialog and
pluralism to take place in Rome in 2007. Among other
subjects, the conference would address issues arising from
the recent cartoon controversy. Italy hopes that Turkey will
join it in making the proposal.
