(SBU) On December 4, Post received the following diplomatic note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the addition of Abousofian Abdelrazik (AKA Abu Sufian Abdulraziq) to the UN 1267 Sanctions list of individuals/entities associated with Usama bin Laden, the Taliban or Al Qaida. Complimentary opening -- The Ministry wishes to refer to the Embassy's diplomatic note no 2724, dated August 22, 2006 regarding the addition of Abu Sufian Abdulraziq to the UN 1267 Committee's consolidated sanctions list. The USG asked that the SAG share with it information regarding measures concerning this individual such as asset freezing, as well as other information related to his activities in the Kingdom. The Ministry wishes to inform the Embassy that Abu Sufian Abdulraziq does not have financial activities in Saudi Arabia. In view of our ongoing cooperation, the Government of Saudi Arabia intends to freeze his assets should he conduct transactions in the Kingdom. Complimentary closing -- OBERWETTER
