on September 14, noting unhelpful comments from others in the
MFA on "engaging" Syria in the context of the upcoming GAERC
(ref B). Klava agreed that Syria has been a problem in the
region, but admitted to not having closely followed the exact
language on this issue. He pledged to look at what was being
said and understood the importance of ensuring Syria fulfills
its obligations under several UNSCR's.
