1. (U) This cable is sensitive but unclassified - protect
accordingly.
2. (SBU) On December 28, econoff passed points coveyed in
reftel to Abdellatif Bendahane, Director of African Affairs,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bendahane was unaware of the
Liberia forum, but spoke very positively about it. He added
that Morocco was planning to send an advisory team to Liberia
within the next three months to discuss electricity and
microcredit cooperate endeavors that would possibly lead to a
visit by King Mohammed VI later in 2007. Bendahane promised
to circulate information about the forum to appropriate GOM
officials, and said he would most likely lead Morocco's
delegation. Econoff supplied Bendahane copies of the forum's
announcement, invitation letter, and agenda.
