¶1. This cable is sensitive but unclassified. Please treat
accordingly.
¶2. (SBU) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Hassan Hami,
Chief of Division of Arab and Islamic Organizations at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 3. Hami, spoke
unofficially because Mohammed Azeroual, the Director General
of multilateral Relations and Global Cooperation was not at
the meeting. He, however, assured Poloff that if a Moroccan
attended the meeting, the person would not be a high-level
member of the Moroccan embassy in Syria. Emboffs will meet
with Azeroual after the Moroccan Monday holiday.
