Polcouns discussed Morocco's position on the implementation
of UNSCR 1718 (reftel) with Nasser Bourita, Director-General
of UN and Multilateral Affairs at the Moroccan Ministry of
Foreign Affairs during an October 18 meeting. Bourita
reaffirmed the GOM's continuing support for the U.S. position
and said Morocco will act accordingly in New York and other
international fora. Bourita added that Morocco plans to
support the Japanese draft resolution circulating in the
UNGA. He noted the Moroccans made a strong statement at the
CTBTO meeting earlier this week in Vienna forcefully
condemning the North Korean test.
