1. (SBU) On April 27, poloff discussed ref (a) request for
countries to sign and ratify the 2005 SUA protocols with MFA
Director of International Organizations and UN Affairs Nasser
Bourita. Polcouns followed up with Bourita on May 24.
Bourita told Polcouns that the GOM was supportive of the US
position and had accepted the proposed amendments. The
issues posed no political problems for Morocco, Bourita said,
and the MFA's Bureau of Legal Affairs was working toward
ratification of the 2005 protocols.
