¶1. (C) DCM presented reftel points to Czech Deputy Foreign
Minister Tomas Pojar on October 4. Pojar immediately
expressed his support for our position. He noted that the
Czechs had already decided to tell the North Koreans that
bilateral talks (planned for November 7) would not be
possible under these circumstances, and that humanitarian
assistance could also be jeopardized. Pojar added that he
would contact us if the Czechs planned further measures in
support of our demarche.
