(U) Poloff spoke with Czech MFA Director of the UN Department Jan Kara on September 12 to update information previously reported on Czech high-level attendance at UNGA (Ref A). Kara provided the following information: ¶A. Head of State President Vaclav Klaus will not/not attend. ¶B. Head of Government The new Prime Minister Mirek Topalonek will not/not attend. ¶C. Foreign Minister The new Foreign Minister Alexandr (Sasha) Vondra will attend. -- FM Vondra is expected to arrive on September 20, and plans to stay through September 22. He plans to attend the Secretary's luncheon on that date. He will be accompanied by SIPDIS the Chief of the Minister's Cabinet Martin Pohl, and others. Director of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Martina Michalcova will attend. -- Ms. Michalcova is expected to arrive on September 13. Her departure date is September 15.
