¶1. (C) Charge d'Affaires, a.i. delivered UNSC demarche (ref
A) to Mauritian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and
Regional Cooperation Madan Dulloo on October 17. The
Minister confirmed Mauritius will continue to support
Guatemala's candidacy for the Security Council in subsequent
rounds of balloting. Dulloo said that if neither Venezuela
nor Guatemala receive the necessary votes and a third
candidate is introduced, the GOM will need to review its
position.
