(C) On August 29, Sonia Barbry, MFA Sri Lanka desk officer,
confirmed that the MFA is tentatively making plans to attend
the experts-level meeting in Washington on September 27. She
cautioned that senior MFA officials had not yet taken a final
decision on French participation in the group, as the MFA was
currently occupied with hosting the annual Ambassadors'
Conference. In the meantime, the MFA is moving forward to
determine who it might send to the experts group meeting.
Barbry indicated that the GoF would likely send someone from
the French EMBASSY in Washington as well as one law
enforcement official from the Ministry of Interior.
