SUBJECT: POINTS DELIVERED: WTO DOHA ROUND NEGOTIATIONS

(SBU) On June 28 we delivered reftel points to Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Senior Advisor for WTO and OECD Alf Friiso.
Friiso said that he would forward reftel points to Norway's
trade delegation in Geneva. While not offering any specific
comments on the talking points, he did say that Norway has
not moved off its' G10 partners' proposals and that Norway
intends to maintain protections on certain agricultural
products, namely meat and dairy. Friiso added that
government's line continues to be that it did not receive a
mandate from the people to negotiate away the entire
Norwegian agriculture sector.
