SUBJECT: NORWAY'S CONTINUED SUPPORT OF THIRD PROTOCOL
REF: STATE 95184
On June 14 we delivered reftel points to Linn Dolva, Higher
Executive Officer in the MFA's Legal Department, Section for
International Humanitarian and Criminal Law. Dolva noted
Norway's strong support of the Third Additional Protocol to
the Geneva Convention (and the admission of Magen David Adom
to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement).
She hoped that "this matter would be resolved next week,"
and emphasized Norway's "full agreement" with the U.S. on
this issue.
