(U) On November 13 and 17 we spoke with Steinar Lindberg and
Bjorn Johannessen, Senior Advisers in the MFA's Section for
Humanitarian Affairs. According to Lindberg, Norway pledged
approximately 81 million USD for Pakistan's earthquake
reconstruction efforts. Johannessen confirmed that all the
pledged funds have been committed (partly to
Norwegian/Pakistani NGOs),with the majority of the funds
targeting UN organizations.
