(SBU) On November 9, we delivered reftel talking points to
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Special Advisor, UN Section,
Torill Wanvik. Wanvik was aware of Norway's prior support
for the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) and told
us that she would consider our request for additional
funding. On November 14 we followed up with Wanvik and
learned that Norwegians are considering tying GPEI funding to
their Millennium Development Goal funds, but Wanvik stressed
that no commitment has been made. Post will continue to
follow-up with the MFA and inform the Department of its
response.
