Secretary N.J. Gangte, who said that the GOI has already

pledged humanitarian aid and will continue to administer it.
He confirmed that the GOI is supportive of the long-term
reconstruction of Lebanon. He indicated that the GOI is
concerned about how the USG will interpret the mandate in
UNSCR 1701, and emphasized that the GOI is interested in
peacekeeping, versus peace enforcing, in Lebanon. He stated
that the current level of Indian UNIFIL troops is still under
discussion and no new decisions have been made.
