Post grants country clearance for the following Federal Administration employee to visit The Bahamas from March 7-9,2006. James R. Piccoli, Aviation Safety Inspector ¶2. We note the purpose of this trip is to perform surveillance on CSC Applied Technologies. We understand that no embassy assistance is required. Country Information on The Bahamas -------------- ¶3. The Consular Information Sheet for The Bahamas provides useful information on crime and security, health services, etc. It can be accessed on the Internet at http://travel.state.gov or obtained from the Office of Overseas Citizens Services at the Department of State (telephone 202-647-5225). Visitors may also consult the Embassy's website at http://nassau.usembassy.gov. ¶4. Exchange rate: One Bahamian dollar equals one U.S. dollar. U.S. dollars are legal tender in The Bahamas. ¶5. A passport is not required for U.S. citizens but is recommended for travel into The Bahamas. No visa or tourist card is required. If you do not have a passport, you must have a U.S. birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID such as a driver license. ¶6. Threat Analysis: The threat against Americans from political activity is considered low. The threat from criminal elements is high. Incidents of violent crime have risen significantly in The Bahamas during the past few years. Travelers should use caution and common sense when moving about the island of New Providence.
