(SBU) Further to ref A response to ref B demarche urging Oman
to subscribe to the Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic
Missile Proliferation (HCOC) and attend the June 22-23 HCOC
Fifth Regular Meeting in Vienna, MFA Disarmament Affairs
officer Abdullah al-Riyami confirmed to Pol/Econ chief June
11 that Oman's Vienna mission personnel will attend the HCOC
meeting. Asked whether the Ministry had decided to subscribe
formally to the HCOC, al-Riyami indicated the matter was
still under study and may not be resolved prior to the June
22-23 meeting.
