2. (C) Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousef bin
Alawi informed Ambassador on November 21 that he planned to
attend the third International Institute for Strategic
Studies (IISS) Regional Security Summit in Manama, currently
scheduled from December 8-10, 2006.
3. (C) Action Request: Minister bin Alawi understands that
National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley will participate in
the Summit and has requested a meeting with him on the
margins of the event. Post seeks guidance as soon as
possible to respond to the Minister's request.
