¶1. (C) Ambassador delivered demarche to Minister of Foreign
Affairs Monyane Moleleki in conversations on April 28 and 29,
¶2006. The FOMIN stated the GOL agreed that Iran should not be a
candidate for the UNHR Council and though Lesotho has not made a
public statement about this candidacy, the FOMIN has directed
MFA Acting Principal Secretary to contact their delegation in
New York regarding the May 9 vote. Post's DCM will follow up
with MFA Acting Principal Secretary to determine status of
Lesotho's vote on Iran's candidacy and will provide feedback
prior to the May 9 deadline.
